As you may well have heard in the news, Microsoft have announced that the next version of their Windows operating system (Windows 10) will be free for the first year.
This offer applies to everyone currently running Windows 7 or 8 (so XP holdouts won't be able to use this deal to upgrade for free).
However, it has been further reported that this offer does not apply to anyone running the "Enterprise" editions of Windows.
One major change in Windows 10 which we know will please many of our clients is a return to the start button in the bottom left of the desktop. This should make an upgrade from Windows 7 a lot less jarring to some users than the upgrade to Windows 8 has been.
The current release date of Windows 10 is unknown, but Microsoft are planning to launch the operating system to the public towards the end of this year.
